Hello, my name is Nathan Donahue and I am a fitness and Russian
Kettlebell enthusiast. I love to work out with my Kettlebells to burn fat,
build muscle, and improve my conditioning for other sports. I was a
competitive rugby player and powerlifter for many years but always
struggled with my weight and conditioning. I never seemed to be able to
get really fit and lean while maintaining my strength, which at the time
was my priority.

I first learned about Kettlebells when reading a weight lifting book
called,
Power to the People, by Pavel Tsatsouline. It was a good book
for improving my powerlifting numbers but what really caught my
attention was the advertisements for
Russian Kettlebells in the back of
the book. I had never heard of "kettleballs" as I called them back then,
but they were supposed to help you burn fat and improve athletic
performance without making you a whimpy cardio guy! As a 250 lbs
competitive powerlifter I was intrigued.

So I went to
www.dragondoor.com, the publisher of Power to the
People, and read more about kettlebells. Finally I bought one 35 lbs
bell, a book called The Russian Kettlebell Challenge, also be Pavel
Tsatsouline, and a video, From Russian with Tough Love. It took me a
couple of days to learn how to use the kettlebell but once I did I was
hooked.

I would train with the bell until I thought I was going to pass out. My
sessions were about 45 minutes a day every other day. The days I
didn't use the kettlebell I would do my normal Sheiko Powerlifting
program. If you know anything about Sheiko Powerlifting you would
know I was grossly over training at the time. But the fact is the results
were amazing. Within two weeks I lost a ton of fat, my vertical jump
increased dramatically, and even my powerlifts went up. I attribute this
to improved explosiveness and better GPP (general physical
preparedness).

From then on Russian Kettlebells were a big part of my training regime.
Whenever I fell away from them the fat would pile back on as I have a
bit of an issue with over eating (I am a pig), so I need the high metabolic
rate that kettlebell training provides.

The reason I decided to start this site was that I wanted to share the
results that kettlebells had for me with others. You too can get in great
shape, lose fat, and become a better athlete; and all in the privacy of
your own home, or even outside! They are better than any home gym,
and I would know, I used to sell them, but they take up no space!

In my opinion Russian Kettlebells are the perfect solution to todays
obesity epidemic. People were meant to be fit and strong and I think we
have forgotten that.
